At 311 feet 8 inches (95 metres) in length, motor yacht INDIAN EMPRESS is one of the largest yachts in the world. Launched in 2000 as superyacht Al Mirqab, megayacht INDIAN EMPRESS was finished at the Oceanco yard in Holland to the design of the A Group. The supyacht had her hull assembled in Durban, South Africa. Originally, this Mediterranean yacht charter megayacht was owned by a Qatari Royal Family member, after which it was commissioned to Sampat Rabani, who sold her to Indian billionaire Vijay Mallya in 2006.

This Mediterranean yacht charter megayacht INDIAN EMPRESS is powered by three 10,000-hp MTU 20-cylinder engines, and has three propellers enabling her to reach speeds of up to 24 knots. Her cruising grounds include the Mediterranean sea and the Indian Ocean. Hopefully luxury yacht charter clients will be able to enjoy this superyacht for a Caribbean yacht charter holiday.

Mallya also owns Indian Princess, a 181 foot (55 meter) motor yacht built by Sterling Yacht & Shipbuilders in Japan in 1986.

Moored next to the Monaco street circuit on the 2007 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix race weekend guests included Bernie Ecclestone, Jay-Z, Gideon Marshall, Tadashi Yamashina, Flavio Briatore and Rob Muntz.

Celebrity watchers and Monaco Grand Prix fans saw this yacht host dozens of famous race fans during the 2009 race weekend opening party. Guests comprised of Renault’s Flavio Briatore, Red Bull’s Christian Horner, BMW’s Mario Theissen, Williams’ Adam Parr, Formula One Management CEO Bernie Ecclestone, CVC’s Donald McKenzie, Sir Richard Branson and Sir Philip Green plus the three Force India drivers for 2009, Adrian Sutil, Giancarlo Fisichella and Vitantonio Liuzzi.

While Mediterranean yacht charter cruises are limited to 12 guests, there are 16 cabins available for the use of the guests.

The cabin configuration consists of 5 double and 11 twin staterooms. The bed configuration offers 1 king, 4 queen, 1 double, and 22 single berths.
