Sailboat yacht MONDANGO was launched in autumn, 2008.  Alloy mega yacht MONDANGO is built to Lloyds Classification and will comply with the Large Commercial Yacht Code LY2.

Yacht MONDANGO is the result of collaboration by Alloy Yachts (from New Zealand) and Dubois design (England).  This partnership has once again teamed up to create another very significant large sailing superyacht.

The design of this sail luxury yacht from Dubois Naval Architects is for a high performance aluminum ketch which represents a world luxury cruising yacht with the ability to stay operational for extended voyages without shore-based support. This makes her an ideal superyacht for a Caribbean yacht charter or a Mediterranean yacht charter.

The topsides of this luxury superyacht are majestic blue with a Matterhorn white superstructure.

The Reymond Langton designed interior includes a large living room (saloon) with formal dining area for up to 10 yacht charter guests. The interiors in light oak paneling with trims of dark brown leather create a modern fresh interior. The saloon furniture is a combination of Macassar wood, soft fabric and leather with
the flooring cut in a unique radial design with a wool and silk carpet for the utmost of comfort.

Hidden behind artwork inspired by a Japanese Suo design, a garment for Kyogen performance around 1700, is the TV. The middle panel, with its bronze, zinc and copper coatings, retracts to reveal the 65″ screen.

An imposing Inuit (Eskimo) sculpture in white Arctic marble compliments the free floating balustrade structure leading down to the guest areas. Guest accommodation provides for an owner’s suite and four guest suites, two including a Pullman berth.

Another Inuit sculpture in Serpentine stone by Niviaqsi and a unique glassblown/metal piece named the “Tear Drop Vessel” by Australia artist Brian Hirst can also be found in the Master stateroom. The owner’s ensuite furnishings include a carved one piece vanity in rare pink onyx with a hammered stainless
steel sink and a Japanese-style-toilet combining both bidet and toilet functions.

The spacious guest lobby features a beautiful glass panel, designed and crafted by London artist Julia and a unique interwoven leather and metal clad mirror.

In each stateroom the throws, cushions and bed covers were designed in London to coordinate specifically with each cabin’s atmosphere.

The megayacht is flagged in the Cayman Islands and is available for Mega Yacht charter inquiries in both the Caribbean in the winter and spring and the Mediterranean in the summer.

Built in New Zealand, this megayacht was launched on Thursday, 18 September 2008 in Auckland. She has a beam of 10.2m (33.5ft), draws 4.9m (16.1ft) and a displacement of 350 tons.

The charter sailboat was built for an international businessman and his wife. Her dark blue hull is similar to the recent sailing yacht RED DRAGON, also offered for charter by SailAway Yacht Charter Consultants.

A difference between the two recent yachts is the ketch configuration (2 masts) which makes the yacht ideal for long distance cruising.  For the casual charter client, this means the yacht is perfect for a Croatia yacht charter or an Amalfi yacht charter, or even a Cannes yacht charter.

Also, in comparison to RED DRAGON, her superstructure extends further aft, creating a large cockpit area, and her side windows and the curved rear window of the cockpit open and close at the touch of a button allowing the cockpit to be climate controlled, or open to the sea breeze.
