Luxury charter yacht RED DRAGON is 52 meters in length (170 feet) and was constructed in New Zealand by Alloy Yachts.  This charter sailing yacht was delivered to her owner in March 2008.  Her design, from Dubois Naval Architects, is that of a high performance aluminum sloop.  Sailboat RED DRAGON represents a global luxury yacht charter vessel with the ability to stay operational for long periods at sea without outside assistance.

The Wilmotte & Associates-designed interior has a large saloon with formal dining area for up to 10 guests. The interior of yacht RED DRAGON is light and contemporary and finished in pale timber. Guest accommodations includes an owner’s suite with bathroom and three ensuite guest suites. Also included on the same guest deck is a gymnasium. Forward, the crew layout has five cabins, all with ensuites for up to 10 crew.  The comprehensive flybridge above is accessed from the cockpit.

This megayacht sailboat is very striking with topsides finished in anthracite gray and a white superstructure. Her excellent sailing performance and clean decks turns heads wherever she goes, be it a Mediterranean yacht charter or a Caribbean yacht charter.

The yacht is fitted with a 62.5 meters (205 foot) carbon fiber mast with a fully battened in-boom furling mainsail. Sails are handled by 11 captive and six vertical winches.

The main engine is a C32 1400hp caterpillar, and she is fitted with two 90kW Northern Lights generators. Two water makers each supply up to 16,000 liters per day.  Bow and stern thrusters assist maneuvering in confined space, and her range under power is approximately 5900 nautical miles at 10 knots.

As is common today on most luxury mega yachts, the entertainment system is controlled by a Kaleidescape audio-visual system for movies and music.  Each cabin has an iPod docking station controlled via a Crestron remote control entertainment system.
