The crew is led by Don Hopkin. Don is a senior Captain with over 31 years’ experience and has had the opportunity to work with many fine organizations, people, and beautiful ships. His career has allowed him to travel and live all over the world. He has been the captain on the owner’s previous yacht for the last 7 years and continues to enjoy a great working relationship with the owner and his family.   Don was raised in a sailing family in Fort Walton Beach/Destin area of North Florida. His family had various sailboats, power boats, and kayaks to explore the waters nearby. He was a member of the Sea Scouts and cruised the Gulf of Mexico on a lovely 65 foot, 1929 gaff-rigged schooner. As member of the Ft. Walton Beach Yacht Club, he raced Hershoff 22′ Fish Class, gaff-rigged sloops regularly in local waters and at other clubs in the Gulf of Mexico. His main interests now are golf and flying his Soviet-era Military plane, Yak - 52 to various air shows and other events.
 
A native of Rhode Island, Sherry Ellis, the yacht’s Chef, began her yachting career in 1983 working as chef, stewardess, mate, and yes, captain, on sailing yachts in the Caribbean, New England, Florida, Mediterranean (Portugal to Turkey). Since 1999, she has been exclusively on private and charter motor yachts.
